I had made several evangelistic tours during these days but I would like to mention here some major journey that took more than a month.
1. To Southern Shan State (March-April 1991). Shan state is located in the eartern part of Myanmar. Since from long time ago, they had close relationship with central plain area, where Buddhism had deeply rooted for centuries as early as the time of Buddha himself (some oral tradition claims). Therefore, Buddhism found favor in this eastern high land, sycronizing with ancient tribal worship.
During my visit to this place, I could reach eight different places, including Loikaw, capital city of Kaya State (south to Shan). For detail you can visit to this site. My journey was first accompanied by my friend, who was doing her theological study with me at the same Maranatha College. Since she came from this place, she was the best helper to my journey. After she chose to stay longer at her hometown, the Lord sent a seven-years-boy to accompany my trip from the town named Aungban. During my stay at Aungban, a revival had taken place among primary students. As a result to this revival, that boy, named Pho Mung, joined me until the end of my evangelistic tour in Shan state.
2. To Northern Chin State (March-April 1992). This time, I was not alone. Actually, this is Bible Students' revival trip sent by Maranatha Bible College. Northern Chin state is the most Christian populated place in Myanmar. Church in Chin state already celebrated its anniversary in 1999. But, on the one hand, churches became norminal and many Christian became a socalled as history goes by for a century. This is the saddest situation of this Christian populated land. During our trip, we could reach 10 different places.
3. To Southern Chin State (June 1992 - March 1993). In the most contrast to their kinsmen in the nortern part of the state, southerners of Chin state are sadly still left behind as unreached and the most remote area in the country. Duirng my trip, I could reach 12 different places and preached the gospel with many different ways of approach.
Time | Place | Special Remark |
June 1995 | Thayakong, Kalay | This is the annual conference of Kalay Section of AOG. Since from first night, the Spirit of God moved like great wind and all fell under the Power. Many healed, confessed Jesus, and restored back to faith. Spiritual warfare was made and seasonal desease (kind of dysentry) was successfully removed from the villege as a result even though some villeges nearby expereinced that terrible desease. |
August 1998 | Aizawl, Mizoram | This is not previously prepared service. But, the pastor of Zomi Assembly of God Church, Mung (one of my old student), invited me to preach the whole week during my visit there. God intimely gave me a message and the central theme of the whole week is "Faith." |
November 3-7, 1999 | Sandaway (Thandwe), Western part of Myanmar | Open Air meeting. Revival broke out from the second night. More than 100 were healed and confessed Jesus. Even new comers fell under the Power and saw different visions. |
December 26-31, 2000 | N. Dagon, Yangon (Full Life Church-yard) | One afternoon, the Spirit of God came powerfully and we coundn't stop crying, weeping, laughing, and praying until midnight (even about 5 hours after I left the pulpit for rest). |
April 11-15, 2001 | Hmawbi, Southern part of Myanmar (Carmel Church-yard) | Youth Bible camp with about 120 attendants. Revival broke out and many Christian youths committed to serve the Lord. Some joined local ministry and some joined Bible College for future ministry. |
April 10-14, 2002 | Pyin Oolwin, Central Myanmar (Immanuel Church-yard) | Youth Bible camp. When the Spirit of God visited, some drunkard and some strong non-christian were mightily touched and converted at the very moment. No healing service occured but many youths were restored back to the faith. |
May 23-26, 2002 | Moulmein, Lower Myanmar | Special camp-meeting for new preachers. I was teaching on the subject of "Pentecostal Pneumatology." The Spirit of God visited teaching class and all received fresh anointing for service. |
